Illustration Friday: Tea

"Mommy, read me that silly story again.. the part where the Mouse tells a story about drawing everything that starts with the letter M."

"Twinkle, twinkle, little bat!
How I wonder what you're at!
Up above the world you fly,
Like a tea-tray in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle--"

Did you ever see such a thing as a drawing of a muchness?

That story is from Alice In Wonderland,

Illustration Friday: Song

While I was painting this,
my Mom was listening to a new album she bought.
I was glancing at her, her eyes closed, swaying her head
while sitting beside me.

"Mommy, what is that song?"

"Your Hand in Mine"

"Why is there nobody singing?"

"That's what you call instrumental, honey"

"But is that still music?"

"Of course! Is it nice?"

"Yes. I like it. Do you like it, Mommy?"

"It's among my favorites, baby"

"Who made that?"

"Explosions in the Sky."

So we both listened to the whole album again.
She was silent. And so was I.
And after finishing my painting she asked me
what I wanna call it. I said...
The Sky.

"Happy Valemtime, Mommy!"

A mother's arms are made of tenderness
and children sleep soundly in them.
~Victor Hugo

I made this gift for My Mommy.
And Teacher Jill and Miss Kai helped me.

Be careful, put off the fans when holding,
the glitters might fall.

I Love You, Mommy!
Happy Valemtime!

oh, did I say it right?
yes I did!

He is green, not because of lack of crayons..
but simply because
Barney is really green in real life!

too bad he is missing one eye now
and have to be kept in the toy box,
together with my other stuffed toys,
when they discovered I have asthma.
